Download for Windows

The Windows MFC variants comes with MSI installer or as portable version both on 64 or 32 bit. The portable version can be just copied in any desired folder; it is meant for users without rights to install applications. In any case, please make sure to have the right MS VC++ Redistributable installed, see below.

MS VC++ Redistributable

Attention: if you get any error about VCRUNTIME141.dll or mfc141u.dll or VCRUNTIME140_1.dll missing: it can be fixed installing the right: Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. This will allow the 32 bit variant of this software to run also on older Windows versions such us WindowsXP.
The needed Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables installers (for the 32 or 64 bit variants) can be downloaded also from here:

Download for Linux

APT repository

For the Debian and Ubuntu Linux distributions an APT repository is available.

  1. Add the repository:
In case of add-apt-repository missing install it first with: sudo apt-get install software-properties-common
    • For Ubuntu 22.04 Jammy Jellyfish on 64 bit: sudo add-apt-repository 'deb https://alus.altervista.org/debian/ jammy main'
    • For Ubuntu 20.04 Focal Fossa on 64 bit: sudo add-apt-repository 'deb https://alus.altervista.org/debian/ focal main'
    • For Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic Beaver on 64 bit: sudo add-apt-repository 'deb https://alus.altervista.org/debian/ bionic main'
    • For Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus on 64 bit: sudo add-apt-repository 'deb https://alus.altervista.org/debian/ xenial main'
    • For Linux Mint Debian Edition 4 Debbie on 64 bit: sudo add-apt-repository 'deb https://alus.altervista.org/debian/ debbie main'
    • For Debian 12 Bookworm on 64 bit: sudo add-apt-repository 'deb https://alus.altervista.org/debian/ bookworm main'
    • For Debian 10 Buster on 64 bit: sudo add-apt-repository 'deb https://alus.altervista.org/debian/ buster main'
    • For Debian 9 Stretch on 64 bit: sudo add-apt-repository 'deb https://alus.altervista.org/debian/ stretch main'
    • For Debian 8 Jessie on 64 bit: sudo add-apt-repository 'deb https://alus.altervista.org/debian/ jessie main'
    • For Debian 7 Wheezy on 32 bit: sudo add-apt-repository 'deb https://alus.altervista.org/debian/ wheezy main'
  2. Then, optionally, (in order to get rid of the warnings about keys and signatures) add the PGP key:
In case of dirmngr missing, first, install it with: sudo apt install dirmngr
    sudo gpg --keyserver keys.gnupg.net --recv-key BCDF65CBC85906AC
Or in case keys.gnupg.net is returning an error you can try with pgp.mit.edu:
    sudo gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-key BCDF65CBC85906AC
    And finally:
    sudo gpg -a --export BCDF65CBC85906AC | sudo apt-key add -
  3. Update:
    sudo apt-get update
  4. Install:
    sudo apt install airspaceconverter-gui
  5. Or to install only the command line version:
    sudo apt install airspaceconverter
  6. To install cGPSmapper (necessary only to convert to Garmin IMG maps):
    sudo apt install cgpsmapper

Note for Kubuntu 22.04 users

It may be necessary to install two extra packages outside your distribution:

wget http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/universe/libz/libzip/libzip5_1.5.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb
sudo apt install ./libzip5_1.5.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb
wget http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/o/openssl/libssl1.1_1.1.0g-2ubuntu4_amd64.deb
sudo dpkg -i ./libssl1.1_1.1.0g-2ubuntu4_amd64.deb

Special thanks to John Leibacher for finding that.

Download for macOS

The AirspaceConverter application bundle built for macOS does not include the cGPSmapper program which is not available on that platform. Please note that these are the first releases for macOS so they may be unstable. We even don't have a Mac, the latest versions are cross compiled on Linux. The version 0.3.6 was built and tested on a real Mac with macOS Catalina (version 10.15).
